ELV RECYCLINGIN AUSTRIA

A new ordinance was scheduled to come into force in Austria on November 6 which enforced the costfree take-back of end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) registered after July 1 2002. This new legislation implements the EU ELV Directive into national Austrian legislation. The Austrian Ministry of the environment has also said that a ban will be imposed on the use in production of hazardous heavy metals which hamper recyclin and are a threat to the environment.
